Steve, you have the best job in the world! I second your view on trying new things, ive always stayed away from the african coffee’s after some bad experiences with them, but after your recentish inmymug on the kenyans, which were amazing, im back to trying all and everything again! Just wish I could train my palate to distinguish and detect the different flavours! Have you always had that ability, or is it something you have to focus on / train yourself to recognise the woods / earths / etc..

Indeed Richard it always does :)
I don’t think I did anything special and still don’t think that I do. I just taste things with an open mind and don’t mind people making fun of me or disagreeing, its hat I taste, what you taste may be different, but its a very personal thing. I like to think 99% of the time I get it right and I have a lot of people coming back and saying that they couldnt pin what it was but when they read the notes it came flooding to them.
Trust your palate

Looking forward to see more from Guatemala.
Take care when you film yourself with a bright background, your face turns completely dark.
Soon going to Italy to pick up my Petroncini.
All the best
