Episode Six Rwandan Amizero 10th of November 2008

The Rwanda cup of gold is the pre cursor competition to the cup of excellence program. Its a trial run for a country to check out the logistics and how to conduct a coffee competition. So at long last next year the Cup of Excellence will be held outside of Central/South America and break into Africa.

Some points to make, its NOT the cup of excellence and its not the same at all. But what its does do is find some fine coffee micro (and we mean micro) lots and we are very excited to have these two lots. The other point is these are VERY rare coffees and a must try.

COCAF Amizero is again a small lot. This red bourbon is from the village of Rushenyi in the District of Gatsibo. the Village produces just 23 bags in an area of 350 Hectares. Grown at an altitude of 1500m

In the cup expect Caramel, Citrus and Lime Zest, with dark Chocolate, coco and almonds.

Steve, I think your new mic is only recording on the left hand channel, no right channel audio! Noticed this on the last mini too. Music on both channels so don’t think its iTunes!

Yes sorry about that will be fixed for the next one hopefully (might have to put up with it on the mini though as its already recorded :) ).

No probs, looking forward to see how the professional uses the Aeropress – what was that you said? Oh GENTLE pressure!!

I do most of my coffee making in an Aeropress so I’m curious about your comments as well…
Would be great to see some suggestions regarding coffees that work great with the Aeropress especially for making faux-Lattes.

As for the audio… you could just encode the audio as mono which should take care of the problem for now.

I really enjoy the videos, keep up the great work. See you have a lot of books of coffee, what can you recommend.
